Dr. Detroit Reginald Williams was born on February 19, 1935 in Alachua, Florida. He is recognized locally and nationally as Superintendent, Pastor, Elder, Musician, Teacher, Counselor and much, much more.

Dr. Williams was saved at the early age of seventeen, at Alachua Church of God In Christ. He was called into the ministry in 1955 under the pastorate of the late Elder Hugh Anderson, Sr. and was ordained in 1959. Dr. Williams served as pastor of Pine Street Church of God In Christ in Starke, Florida for 20 years (1961 thru 1981). He was appointed pastor of Williams Temple Church of God in Christ where he has served for the past 40 years.

Dr. Williams was a public school teacher for 10 years. He received a bachelor's degree in music from Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida and a master's degree in theology from Luther Rice Seminary in Jacksonville, Florida in 1975. He received his doctorate degree in ministry in 1981, also from Luther Rice Seminary.

Dr. Williams was appointed State Secretary of the Florida Jurisdiction COGIC in 1981. In August of 1982, he was appointed Superintendent of the Gainesville District Churches of God In Christ. He served as Director of the Williams Temple Christian Academy in 1987. From 1988 through 1989, he served as State President of the United States Auxiliaries Convention (USAC). He was also appointed to the Doctoral Review Committee in April 1993. He has taught at the Charles H. Mason Bible College, Gainesville site (1999-2000) and Tallahassee site (2000). He also served as Administrative Assistant to Former Bishop C. D. Kinsey and currently serves as Treasurer of the Christian Pastors Association of North Central Florida.

He is the First Administrative Assistant to Bishop Rushie L. Dixon of Central Florida Jurisdiction Number 1 Churches of God in Christ. And, as he is a lover of teaching the Word and ways of God, he has his own school teaching Biblical studies.

All in all, Dr. Williams loves preaching, teaching, and music. And he is a lover of mankind everywhere.
